Fellowship in Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery in Urology

Swedish Urology Group in Seattle, Washington is offering a one year fellowship in robotic and advanced laparoscopic urologic surgery. This is a clinical fellowship in a busy minimally invasive urologic practice. The fellow will be assisting in robotic surgery using the daVinci robot.(There are 3 daVinci Si HD robots on site). Robotic procedures are performed on the prostate and kidney, including robotic prostatectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy, and robotic pyeloplasty. (The practice routinely performs more than 250 robotic procedures per year.)
The Fellowship also offers experience with advanced laparoscopic urologic surgery including laparoscopic radical nephrectomy, laparoscopic nephroureterectomy,and SILS (single incision laparoscopic surgery). Both transperitoneal and retroperitoneal approaches are utilized for the laparoscopic procedures. The fellow will also be participating in clinical research with the assistance of our research coordinator. This involves maintaining a database, creating presentations and presenting at urologic meetings.
