Fellowship in Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery in Urology

Swedish Urology Group in Seattle, Washington is offering a one year fellowship in robotic and advanced laparoscopic urologic surgery. This is a clinical fellowship in a busy minimally invasive urologic practice. The fellow will be assisting in robotic surgery using the daVinci robot.(There are two robots on site including the daVinci S HD). Robotic procedures are performed on the prostate and kidney, including robotic prostatectomy and robotic partial nephrectomy.(The practice routinely performs more than 200 robotic prostatectomies per year.)
The Fellowship also offers experience with advanced laparoscopic urologic surgery including laparoscopic radical nephrectomy, laparoscopic nephroureterectomy, laparoscopic pyeloplasty, and laparoscopic retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. Both transperitoneal and retroperitoneal approaches are utilized for the laparoscopic procedures. The fellow will also be participating in clinical research with the assistance of our research coordinator. This involves maintaining a database, creating presentations and presenting at urologic meetings.
